Women 2.0 Conference Wrap-Up 2006-08-20
At the beginning of this year,
HFG Consulting expanded its Entrepreneur 27 branch to focus on women.
Too many entrepreneur events have happened where one of the most asked
questions is where are the women? Women 2.0 was started to bring
women entrepreneurs together, to facilitate a place for young women
entrepreneurs to meet, share ideas and learn from each other.
In April, Women 2.0 organized
it’s first event, Women 2.0: The Next Generation of Entrepreneurs.
The event featured a panel of prominent women entrepreneurs in the technology
field including Mary Hodder, Dabble
founder, Jessica Hardwick, SwapThing
founder, Elaine Wherry, Meebo co-founder, Sandy Jen, Meebo
co-founder, Joyce Park, Renkoo
founder, and Emily Chang, IdeaCodes
co-founder. At the beginning of the event, the room broke up into
group discussions covering topics from how to build your team, to how
to market your products. The table discussions were led by the
following women entrepreneurs and VCs: Cathy Kirkman, Patricia
Nakache, Indu Navar, Kristin McDonell, Barbara Rybka, and Elizabeth
Bastiaanse.
Women 2.0 is organizing a pool
party for August 26, 2006, all are welcome, purchase tickets at www.entrepreneur27.org.
The group is also working on organizing a business plan competition
to find a young woman entrepreneur with a cool idea to invest in.
